Schedule of Events for Scottish Festval


May 2, 2015 - Saturday

10:00 am - Scottish Festival begins!

10:00 am - Delaware Dulcimores will play in the Church Sanctuary

11:00 am - Scottish Dancing with audience participation in the Chapel

11:00 am - 1:00 pm -  Lunch is served in the fellowship hall. Menu includes:

Shepherd's Pie, Salad, Roll, Dessert and Beverage for $8.00

1:00 pm - Talk on Scottish Borders by Ray LaFever in the Sanctuary

2:00 pm Introduction to the Harp by Meredith Bocek of The Harp Studio in the Sanctuary

3:00 pm - A musical Journey with Chrlie Zahm in the Sanctuary

Throughout the day there will be displays and demonstrations by

the Kiltmaker's Apprentice, The Harp Studio,  the Maxwell Clan and Little Delaware Pottery.

We will enjoy periodic Bagpiping and a Display of Scottish Dolls.

Our Church History and Archives Room will be open.

There will be a Scottish Bake Sale,

raffle tickets will be sold for the Scottish walking sticks and the beautiful quilt made by women of the church.

A selection of Gordon Tyler Pottery pieces will be for sale.

A special thanks to Karen LaFever and Diane Maxwell for their beautiful Scottish decorations throughout the church.

Activities for the children will include a Scottish scavenger hunt, face painting and make your our tartan!

Free will donations are accepted with thanks at the door or you may contribute to this event through the church office.

7:30 pm - Celtic Concert featuring Charlie Zahm

Tickets are for sale now in the church office - $10.00 for adults; $5.00 for teens and kids are free!

9:15 am Adult Bible Study in the Church Library

9:30 am Sunday School beginning in the Chapel

10:30 am Worship with a Scottish Flair in the Sanctuary

including Kirkin' o' the Tartan and 

music by Charlie Zahm, the Chancel Choir and A Pealing Sound Bell Choir

11:30 am Scottish Tea and Fellowship
