JOINT WORSHIP At FPC - World Communion
10:30 AM

“I will strive to enter that intimate space of Christ’s radical love with you.”

We welcome you to worship with us this Sunday at 10:30 am in the church sanctuary.

Our shared worship is a grand tradition which we’re delighted to continue on Sunday, October 5!

For a number of years the congregations of First Presbyterian Church and the United Ministry have worshiped together on World Communion Sunday.

This year it is our privilege at First Presbyterian to welcome our sisters and brothers from United Ministry as we celebrate our unity in Christ together.

We offer a special word of welcome to the Rev. Dr. Duane Buddle who will present the morning’s message.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to our choirs for their work together to provide the morning’s music.

We will have additional time for fellowship and sharing at the Soup and Salad Lunch immediately following the service in Fellowship Hall.

Please join us!

Sermon: "Food for the Soul"  Rev. Dr. Duane Buddle

Lectionary Texts:

Jeremiah 1:4-10

Hebrews 12:1-15

We cordially welcome all to worship with us— guests, members and friends. With joyful hearts let us approach God and share kindness toward one another.

The Lord calls us together in worship not for God’s sake only but also for ours — that we may be renewed with forgiveness, encouraged by God’s Word and strengthened through Christian fellowship.

The Lord welcomes one and all.

Openly and eagerly let us share our lives with God and one another.

Let us reach out with hearts and hands in Christian love.

We welcome each of you and invite you to let this be a time for spiritual renewal.

What does the Lord require of us? Simply this: to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). May it be so.
