2019 Community Harvest Food Bank Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who made the first Community Harvest Fundraiser a success in 2018.

2019 Community Harvest Food Bank Fundraiser -

We are gearing up again this summer for the Delhi food bank fundraiser, which is planned for Sunday, October 6 from 1-3 pm in Courthouse Square.

Last October, Delhi churches and community members helped raise over $7,540 and over 3,000 cans, boxes, and bags of food to support our neighbors through the Delhi food pantry and Delaware Opportunities. First Presbyterian Church donated $540! The Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, church youth groups, and SUNY Delhi student groups collected food and built creative CAN-structions, such as a putting green, an alligator, or an Eiffel Tower. Thank you so much once again for donating food and money, and making the event so much fun!

This year, we’re hoping to build on that success by doing even more amazing canstructions. Please see Nancy in the Church Office if you are interested in working on a canstruction this year.

The team is also working to plan an informative panel and discussion on hunger in our area. We would love to include speakers who have been personally affected by this issue and would like to share their experiences. Do you know anyone who might be interested in speaking about their experiences with food insecurity at the event? Of course this can be a sensitive issue, but if you know anyone who might be willing, please reach out to Krisy Gashler  or Liz Frisbee.

Watch for more information coming soon!
